You can do it by drop data form Data Source (table in Data Base Explorer) in Visual Studio.I am working with a split view controller with a master and detail view.I have a view on my detail view controller that contains a user input field which should call a method on the master view controller to update an array. I want to Update the Details View from Code- Behind (.cs) I have a Drop down list loaded with User Names, Up on Selecting the User NAME, I am loading the Details View with User Information. Try putting an Update Panel around the Details View. You might be able to do better, but this will invokes Selected Index Changed envent and refresh user detailed information. [EDIT] You can update data in database by displaying the detailed view in Data Grid View control connected to db: Hey, I have 20 columns in User information. So, it would be not good those 20 fields in Grid View as it will be a Horizontal row which will cross my page.I mean if this "new" detail View Controller object is being created, changed but not pushed on the stack, what purpose does it have? Your solution is fine, I like the slightly cleaner code by having a reference to the detail View in the root (master? At this point I've created a "Detail View Controller" property in the App Delegate class, and have just been accessing the App Delegate.detail View Controller property to update.
