Deaf people and dating

My question here is based on my observation and experience. Those mercifully immune organs of hearing of yours render you indomitable in a relationship with a hearing woman. But in your case add to it that the woman would be unable to talk at you to regulate her emotions. Why is it so hard for a hearing woman to want to date a deaf guy regardless if the deaf guy can speak well or just only knows sign language. Hearing men will go after deaf women because men go after woman anyway and look, she's cute, I think I'll go after her. She would have to learn sign language and you could always get away with pretending she signed wrong. After a few minutes of chatting, I’ll be speaking to her the same way I’d speak to anyone else. In fact, our conversation will sometimes feel so natural and effortless that I’ll lose sight of the reality that deafness does seriously impact a person’s life.Thinking about what she’s had to overcome, I’ll be surprised when the truth hits home: You should never, ever underestimate someone just because they were born different from you.Next Saturday, I have my first date with a very special lady I met online. She’s super cute and smart, but there’s one thing that really sets her apart from everyone else I’ve ever known: She was born completely deaf.I was married to hearing man for 13 years and we’ve been divorced for 10 years .I have wonderful sons, I love them so much and I have given up a lot to raise them.

Here are all the amazing things I’m going to learn on our date: I’ll realize that the fact that someone can’t hear isn’t the only thing that defines them as a person. On the contrary, I’ll learn that deaf people are incredibly strong.

It’s irrelevant like we don’t feel bad that you can hear. You are not an interpreter but there will be times you will need to interpret.

We don’t mind hanging out with your speaking-only friends but not all the time and you don’t have to hang out with us all the time. Example: if you want to go to a movie theater with your friends and it doesn’t have subtitles or captions, don’t feel bad.

I used to be a college athlete and I am well-liked and have an easy going personality and I am a friendly respectful guy.

I grew up orally and did not know sign language until I went off to college. OK, maybe you can't know this, so I will explain it. If a hearing woman gets a boyfriend who can't hear her speak, it would be if she had a car without a steering wheel.
